The project involves three different touchpoints. The first one is a deck of cards, designed to stimulate deep emotional conversations through a series of questions to be exchanged between the players. The aim of the game is to foster connection by encouraging discussions about oneself, others and mutual mental well-being.
Chimere longs to offer its participants the opportunity for dialogue and sharing that was once denied to the patients of former mental health institutions. To this end, Chimere has developed a publication that includes a historical overview of the treatment of mental illness in Italy. Through key topics such as the rise of asylums and Franco Basaglia's activism, the book delves deeper, eventually focusing on the history of Arezzo and its former Hospital.
The narrative unfolds not only through words but also through carefully selected archival photos, artworks, quotes, and poems. The final part of the book explores the reality of the Chimere project and its desire for a brighter future, a future that finally includes everyone.
